Mr Kyle
I and other leaders attended a little group Project in an impoverished area of Leeds and helped create a small group for the less fortunate kids. We gave up our weekends and went to this group to play games and teach the young people about the fundamentals of scouting and what it has to offer to those who want to become part of a group.
We planned activities that could be achieved weekly and explored the different areas of the Scouts movement. Everything that was planned and achieved during the group was all down to the kindness of the local community and the generosity of the other groups that helped us achieve this.
We decided to do this as the area that we decided upon was on the boundary of our district and an area that was run down, didn't have as a community. The children didn' have anything to do so they walked the streets doing nothing, so it was a good way to bring the community together and give the children of this specific area a purpose and become part of something much bigger than they could ever dream of.
