Mass cleaning

Mass cleaning (Thimphu-Phuntsholing High way)
******************************************************
The program was initiated by Chhukha Dzongkhag Administration with help of schools of Chhukha Dzongkhag.
Preservation and conservation of our prestin environment is one pillar of GNH. It's important for every citizen to be responsible in keeping our country clean and green. I have seen many board being erected every corners of the highway, reminding commuters about the waste management but seems there are few commuters and residents who don't pay heed.
Bhutan's first national high way is now filled with unwanted and non-degradable crashes, if we walk a metre away from the road. There are thousands of plastics, rubbers, metals, broken bottles, and many other crashes thrown. The way has become dumping site, for residents residing near the road and commuters plying up and down.
Its high time for us to realise the long run impact of the waste to the environment and animals surviving there.
Education on waste management should be instilled to every individuals who survive on this heavenly gifted earth and Bhutan in particular.
Let's not forget 'SMART', the extraordinary characteristics of the Bhutanese said by our King.

We the Chukha Central School family had also participated this cleaning event. It was our small contribution to the nation in keeping Clean and Green.
After cleaning around 4 hours, we could see all smiling and talking about the waste be disposed everywhere. It was satisfying work, since my team collected around 2 bolerio waste (11 commerce boys).
