Macau-Melaka Dialogue for Peace 2021
Dialogue For Peace enables scouts to gain mutual understanding and mutual respect by learning about each other's identities. At the same time, scouts are able to learn the skills they need to apply in Scouting in order to create a culture of peace. I realized that it is important to create a community among scouts from different communities and different countries. The community enables us to organize international events in the future.
The Dialogue for Peace program was implemented on the 7th of July 2021 at Google Meet. The scouts from both countries were invited to give presentations about Scouting in their countries. I set a QnA session so that they are able to satisfy their curiosities about others' Scouting journey!
All the participants benefited from this project. The project enabled scouts from Malaysia and Macau to gain a mutual understanding of each other and appreciate the differences. Participants learned the skills needed in terms of Dialogue and teambuilding.
I have learned to organize and implement a Dialogue between different communities to create a larger community for peacebuilding. I would like to have some interesting activities during the conversation so that all the participants feel more interested to get involved.
