Lifeline Drive

We are Rover Scouts from Patel Scout and Guide Groups, Bharat Scouts and Guides and our motivation to have a Blood Donation Drive arose when one of us had recently read about a case where a person had lost their life because the hospital in which they were admitted at could not access blood when a blood transfusion was needed. So we decided to collaborate with one of the local Lion Clubs since their reach is extensive and organised the camp.

We had organised a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with a local club of Lions Clubs International on the 8th of December 2024 from 9:30am to 2pm. We had spread the word about the camp using social media, word of mouth and by public campaigning on the day of the Blood Donation Drive. Lions Club had helps us by extending their services to test and collect blood from the donors and this blood was further kept at their Blood Bank so as to reach its beneficiaries.

During the camp, we worked closely with the medical officers collecting the blood and got to know first hand about the deadly situations that can arise because of lack of blood. We also understood the requirements to donate blood and learned how to organise a drive.
