KSBSG: Radio Scout Training and Nature Study Camp (Part 1 - Central Region) - Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary
A series of camps have been organised by Kerala State Bharat Scouts and Guides for Radio Scout Training and Nature Study in association with Kerala Forest Department across the three regions.
CAMP 1 - Central Region (Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary)
Radio Scout Training and Nature Study Camp (Part 1 - Central Region) was held at Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary, Kothamangalam for Rovers and Rangers of Kerala State Bharat Scouts and Guides. The "Radio Scout Training" was inaugrated by Hon. State Chief Commissioner (in charge) and State Commissioner (G), Kunjannamma. The meeting was presided by Hon. State Secretary, Mr. Sakkeer Hussain.
The camp was lead by State Organizing Commissioner (S/G), Gireesh G. K. and Omana V. Korah and was assisted by Asst. State Organizing Commissioners, David Joseph and Sudeesh Kumar. Rovers and Rangers from the districts of Palakkad, Chavakkad, Irinjalakkuda, Kothamangalam and Trissur participated.
Introductory trainings were organised on:
Messenger of Peace - All the Rovers and Rangers were given with the ideals of Messengers of Peace Initiative and created MOP IDs. They are also trained to coordinate MOP activities of their area.
Radio Scouting - Training on HAM Radios and JOTA-JOTI was given to the participants. Professional HAMs were invited to the camp for training.
Nature Study & Awareness. - Oncologists and Interpreters from Kerala Forest Department trained the participants on various topics like nature and its protection, birds, mamalia and conservation. A deep forest trekking was the highlight of the event.
