Kingsford Smith Cub Scout - Messenger of the Peace
Last summer, Australia experienced unprecedented historical bushfire and severe drought. The crisis affected across the border and described as uncontrolled which made the government declared a state of emergency. Those who affected by this significant condition have lost their property, valuable assets and essential supplies. Food insecurity was on the rise and progress to an extraordinary increase in demand for emergency food relief. We were able to respond quickly during this crisis. However, the crisis is far from over.
Our short project primary focus is to perform good turns and help others as part of the Scout Promise and Scout Law. Thanks to the generosity of leaders, cubs and their family donating perishable foods to help those who affected by Australian bushfire and drought crisis. On Tuesday 24th March 2020, our collection of perishable foods has been successfully delivered to Food Bank NSW & ACT warehouse at Glendenning.
