THE Co-Curriculum Education Department through the Uniformed Unit and Community Service of Ministry of Education (MoE) in collaboration with the Brunei-Muara District Scout Association organised a Basic Leadership Course for Junior Scouts from September 8 to 10.

Held at the National Scout Training and Activities Centre of the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD), present as the guest of honour was Chairman of Brunei-Muara District Scout Association, Pengiran Mahdi bin Pengiran Haji Salleh.

More than 60 participants comprising secondary school students throughout the Sultanate who are members of the Junior Scouts were involved in the course.

The Programme Director in his capacity as the Assistant District Scout Commissioner of Junior Scouts Section and Venture Scout Section, Zakaria bin Haji Mohd Nor presented a report from one of the representatives, followed by the presentation of certificates to the course participants.

The course was aimed at ensuring that participants understand and are aware of their roles and responsibilities as an effective leader; can lead and train new members of the Junior Scouts; and learn new skills and share their experience while camping.
