Dog Poop Initiative

Dog Poop Initiative

Bhutanese have a tradition and custom of chewing betel nut. The limes are applied on the leaf and the betel nut is wrapped around the leaf. Due to excessive application of lime in the betel nut by the betel nut seller, the lime is smeared on the walls of the building, electric post, sign boards and any pillar. Almost all adults and old person are chewing betel nut however they are not responsible to take care of the lime and betel nut spits. Owing to this reason, thirty youth volunteer cleaned the entire building in the bajo town based on the theme "Dog Poop initiate". "Dog Poop initiate" is a name of a book which describes about a presence of a piles of dog poop in the foot ball ground situation. All the outgoing teams, parents and coaches were alarming the incoming team about the presence of the dog poop on the ground but nobody is taking the initiative to clean it. Similarly, relating to our context, every body is chewing the betel nut but they are not mindful to take care of the lime and betel nut spit. Thus this initiative is intended to greater awareness on the affect of their deeds on the aesthetic surroundings.
