Culture Keepers: Tshechu Heritage Patrol
I was inspired by a commitment to national service, cultural heritage preservation, and promoting leadership and civic responsibility among Bhutanese youth
Scouts delivered essential crowd control and public assistance at the Thimphu Tshechu, ensuring order and safety. Our success relied on tight collaboration with De-suups and the RBP. We managed high-traffic areas, facilitated access for vulnerable attendees (elders/disabled), and supported security, promoting youth leadership and cultural preservation
We learned the critical value of seamless inter-agency collaboration with the De-suups and RBP for unified crowd management. The project developed our situational leadership to handle high-pressure scenarios and emphasized the necessity of empathetic diplomacy when assisting diverse attendees. Ultimately, this reinforced that discipline and adaptability are key to ensuring safety and the dignified preservation of our culture.
