Every 21st September is globally celebrated as a world peace day. At the same time Soenakhar primary school too joined global to  celebrate world peace day on the theme Climate action for peace on 21st September 2019 on our small way. The main objective of celebrating the day is to provide awareness on the risk of climate change on peace of self, nation and global as a whole. In order to fulfill the objective and mark the day fruitfully we have done mass tree plantation as main event.

The day was marked by singing national anthem and lighting of butter lamps followed by singing Zhabten of his majesty the Druk Gyalpo. Done meditation for few second by ringing peace bell. After that the school scout commissionaire shared few things on the importance of marking the day by reading the information that he has gathered from the net and shared his experiences and knowledge although how to be peaceful in our own way. Students were informed by combating climate change we can be at peace.

The scout leader talked on the cause and effects of climate change in detail with sharing life related examples which made our audience well aware of being responsible enough in every activity we do.

Not only that but also we do made pledge on the day to always take care of our own waste and minimize burning the waste and always smile in order to attain peace in our society. Next lead by principal, teachers and students took part in mass tree plantation. About 40 fruit trees were planted on the day and cleared and maintained 50 existing tress to combat climate change so that we  have peaceful world. In between in order to make our programme educative and entertaining, few students dance and sang a song related to the day.

School would like  to celebrate such programme in future too since its impacts are huge and hope to plan for bigger events so that we could engage more number of participants.
