Cleanliness Drive in localities

A Cleanliness drive was conducted by the Rovers and Rangers of the Alpine Open Rover and Ranger Unit at Upper Bayavü Hill, Kohima at 7.00 am carried out till the main juction near the state mesuem. The main objective of the drive was to create and maintain a plastic free environment which is proving a major threat to the environment. We started by picking all the plastic wrappers, rubber equipments, and other non - biodegradable materials and collecting it in a separate bags so as to differentiate between wastes which can be recycled. Then we watered and broomed the roads and the compound of the State Headquarters and collected all the biodegradable wastes and dumped it into hole digged for dumping the wastes so as to convert it into compost manure.
