Y-VIA Tsenkharla successfully carried out three days cleaning campaign during the Shakshing Tshechu on the theme “Our Waste, Our Responsibility – Let us keep our Community Clean!” The programme mainly focused on creating awareness amongst the people as well as to educate the general public on waste management. A total of 20 Y-VIA member students of Tsenkharla Central School took part in a mass cleaning campaign coordinated by Mr. Karsang Ugyen (Y-VIA Tsenkharla, Coordinator). 

It was a comprehensive campaign for the shopkeepers and to the general public gathered during the three days festival. This was the first phase of cleaning in the area and the response was overwhelming. All the waste was taken to the waste dump site and they were segregated into tins, pet bottles and papers. Approximately a truckload of waste was collected.
