Awareness on Waste Management in River/Stream

We were inspired to start this project after observing pollution in rivers and streams, which are vital for communities. The harmful effects on health, biodiversity, and the environment motivated me to raise awareness on proper waste management to protect them for future generations.

The project was executed by the Eco Ambassadors in collaboration with the Scouts. A total of 50 scouts participated in cleaning the stream near the school, where they collected and segregated the waste. They also identified the types of waste commonly found in the stream and prepared a presentation, which was shared with all 740 staff and students to spread awareness.

Through this project, we learned the importance of teamwork and community participation in solving environmental issues. We realized that awareness alone is not enough—taking action makes a real difference. The project also taught us that even small efforts, like cleaning a stream, can inspire others to be more responsible about waste management and protecting our natural resources.
