22 cubs, 3 leaders & 3 parent helpers participated in our evening activity based on community and remembrance day Australian Christmas Care Package Program. This is where care packages under 2kgs are sent free of charge to our Australian soldiers on overseas deployment who are away from loved ones over Christmas. The packages include non perishable food item that remind them of home, items for enjoyment & luxuries. The cubs & other families in our group donated items like tim tams, vegemite, puzzle book, magazines, shower gels & candles. The cubs were responsible for sorting, weighing and evenly distributing the donated items into the post boxes. They included hand made cards, thank you notes & pictures. On 7/11/17 after custom labels were completed they were on their way. The included picture is of the 2 full bags at the post office (due to photo permissions of those involved). We put together 15 boxes and 1 box for a explosive detection dog. A fantastic effort by all involved. Our Joey group also participated on a separate night and put together 7 boxes & 1 dog package.
