Scouts in Africa Embracing Dialogue

Scouts in Africa Embracing Dialogue

It was an eventful, fulfilling and successful first day at the Dialogue for Peace training as the participants got down to business in creating dialogical persons. Enthusiastic young scouts from different backgrounds got to have meaningful discussions on the introductory parts in understanding the concept of dialogue in a much broader perspective. This being a training on dialogue being facilitated by scout trainers (their fellow young people) and supported by Dialogue specialists from KAICIID Dialogue Centre the participants were able to broaden their perspectives on the concept of dialogue and how to make good use of the positive aspects it can provide. Discussions and exercises were drawn from self-awareness activities, appreciative inquiry, Conflict, Peace building, Identities and world views. The topics being given an alternative perspective with the participants positively contributing towards deliberate actions that they could do to make it more possible for a culture of dialogue and non-violence to be created in the minds of young people.
