El Memorandum de entendimiento entre el Movimiento Proteger nuestro Planeta (POP) y la Organización Mundial del Movimiento Scout (Región Interamericana) se firmó el pasado 4 de febrero en Panamá, de la mano del Prof. Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, Mentor principal de POP y Raúl Sánchez Vaca, Director Regional del Oficina Scout Mundial, Centro de apoyo Interamérica. The Memorandum of Understanding between the Protect Our Planet (POP) Movement and World Organization of Scout Movement (Inter-American Region) was signed on February 4th in Panama by Prof. Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, Chief Mentor of POP and Raul Sanchez Vaca, Regional Director of the World Scout Bureau, Interamerica Support Centre. Proteger Nuestro Planeta (POP) es una iniciativa diseñada para abordar la necesidad urgente de compartir información y conocimiento con los jóvenes sobre soluciones para proteger el Recursos comunes, alcanzar los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (SDG) adoptados por la ONU, mitigar el cambio climático y adaptarse a su creciente Impactos. Con el fin de alcanzar el tamaño, la escala y el impulso para convertirse en un movimiento global, POP moviliza a los jóvenes de todo el mundo a emprender acciones colectivas, inspiradas en el conocimiento, necesarias para mitigar el cambio climático y proteger los ecosistemas amenazados de la Tierra. Busca específicamente un papel como agentes de cambio para los jóvenes a nivel mundial para lograr un patrón sostenible de desarrollo y lograr cambios en estilos de vida y valores para apoyar dicho objetivo. Protect Our Planet (POP) is an initiative designed to address the urgent need to share information and knowledge with youth on solutions to protect the Global Commons, achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) adopted by the UN, mitigate climate change and adapt to its growing impacts. Intended to ultimately reach the size, scale and momentum to become a global movement, POP mobilizes the youth worldwide to take collective action, inspired by knowledge, needed to mitigate climate change and protect the earth’s threatened ecosystems. It specifically envisages a role as agents of change for youth globally in attaining a sustainable pattern of development and bringing about changes in lifestyles and values to support such a goal. La Oficina Scout Mundial-Centro de Apoyo Interamerica y el Movimiento POP acuerdan a colaborar en: i. Intercambian conocimiento e información relevante a las actividades entre las dos organizaciones ii. Coordinar esfuerzos para cumplir objetivos. iii. Exhibir experiencias y actividades guiadas por los Scouts iv. Cualquier otro tipo de actividad que acuerden las partes. World Scout Bureau – Interamerica Support Centre and the POP Movement agree to collaborate by: i. Exchanging information and sharing knowledge relevant to the activities of both organizations ii. Coordinating efforts to meet the objectives of both organizations (i.e., the POP Movement and the Scouts (Inter-American Region) iii. Showcasing experiences and activities led by Scouts (Inter-American Region at relevant POP events globally) iv. Any additional activities that are mutually agreed on by the two parties
