APR Scout Leadership Induction

The Asia-Pacific Region successfully conducted the APR Scout Committee Induction and Orientation Training from 02–06 December 2025 at the Grand Dorsett Hotel in Selangor, Malaysia. The training brought together newly elected and appointed members of the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee (RSC), sub-committee members, resource persons, and staff, with a total of 100 participants supporting and attending the event. The five-day induction served as an important platform to strengthen leadership, governance, collaboration, and strategic alignment within the region. Through a combination of learning sessions, workshops, team-building activities, and committee discussions, participants were introduced to the structure, functions, and responsibilities of the Regional Scout Committee and its sub-committees. Key topics included governance and accountability, safeguarding, risk management, conflict management, performance management, regional structures linked to WOSM, and action planning for the triennium ahead. A significant highlight of the training was the development of team charters among the Regional Scout Committee and sub-committees. These sessions encouraged participants to align their aspirations, define ways of working together, and establish a shared commitment toward achieving the region’s strategic priorities and strengthening collaboration across teams. The programme also provided opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and the exchange of experiences among leaders from across the Asia-Pacific Region. Through presentations, committee meetings, and interactive workshops, participants explored challenges from the previous triennium while identifying opportunities and action points to move the region forward. Reflecting on the experience, one Regional Scout Committee member shared: “This induction was both insightful and energising. It not only clarified my responsibilities as a member of the Regional Scout Committee but also created space for meaningful dialogue and connection with fellow leaders. The development of our team charter was especially impactful—it gave us a shared sense of purpose and direction from the very beginning.” The induction and orientation training marked an important step in building a cohesive, informed, and future-ready leadership team that will guide the Asia-Pacific Region throughout the triennium.
