Youth Building peace---- 'ill effects of drugs and alcohol"

‘We care our child right? But do we truly care others child?’ Our great fourth said “future of nation lies in our younger generation” and it’s our duty to mold them into responsible and respectful citizen. Coinciding with International youth day we organized awareness program on ‘Ill-effects of Alcohol and Drugs’. This year’s theme for the international youth day 2017 is “Youth Building Peace”, so to build peace in our youth, society plays vital role and our youth has many expectations from their parents and society. We have focused on the following broad aims and objectives: 1. To know the role of youth in society and their responsibilities 2. To create awareness of ill effects of drugs and alcohol to public 3. To discourage shopkeeper from selling alcohol and drugs to youth and its repercussions. 4. Take a pledge from our youth-‘Not to sell Alcohol and drugs’ 5. To build school-community relationship. Though there was incessant and heavy rain fall, our program was not disturbed since our youth are always prepared and knows how to be cheerful under all difficulties. Before starting our program, we prayed Tashi-Tshek-pa to have successful program and to suppress those ill luck. We started our program at Alubari town and ended at Tshimasham town, displaying banners; sharing importance of Youth day. We requested shopkeepers and public there to sign pledge which will bring peace and fulfill our future citizens’ dream (pledge states: ‘Not to sell Alcohol and drugs’). It was an opportunity for our youths to interact with many people sharing their opinion and expectation from them. Songs related to effects of alcohol and drugs were also played and sung while marching towards Tshimalakha and Tshimasham town. Almost all the shopkeepers had signed our pledges, which is a green signal to cooperate with parents and teachers to bring peace and harmonious life to our future leaders. Finally we had ended our program successfully with prayers for wellbeing of the all the senting beings and prosperous life of all being.
