Ascot Park Joey Scouts decided to bring some joy to the residents of aged care retirement facility so they spent time preparing small gifts and making never ending cards of peace, love and happiness. On the day of the visit we were joined by a couple of Cub Scouts and a Scout who loves playing the trumpet. There was singing, dancing and a fair bit of toe tapping too. This was followed by everyone moving to an activity area where we explained what Messengers of Peace was about and the youth worked with the residents showing them how to make the cards. We then shared a great afternoon tea and gave them our gifts. This was truly a great experience for our youth to appreciate the elderly and can't wait to do it again.
