Wylie Park Litter Pick Up

The sight of all the litter in the park inspired me to make a difference and help improve the parks conditions. We also needed the service hours to complete many advancements such as the national challenge,. There was a waterway in the park so we believed it would be the ideal location. It was also the safest enclosed area ensuring the safety of all the scouts. There are dirtier areas, but they are in areas that I don't consider safe.
The fist thing I did was contact the friends of Wylie Park for permission. I then made a flyer advertising my vision for the park. Furthermore I submitted a permit and completed my A-log.
I learnt that thorough planning is the key to a successful project Its also good to have a balance of work, rest and fun. If the scouts enjoy themselves more work gets done, without them noticing. Give them them constant praise and motivation. A competition is also a good way of encouraging more engagement.
