“UMRA CAMP 2015” was a camp organized by Ghiyasuddin Rover Crew in collaboration with Safa Hajj Group with the support of The Scout Association of Maldives meant to provide an inexpensive way for the scouts and their family members to perform the umra. We started planning the project since 22nd May after a meeting with Safa Hajj Group and proceeded with advertising as soon as we finalized the price and date of the umra camp. We informed all the scout groups via fax/email and we gave interviews to T.V Channels regarding the Umra Camp. We started receiving the application forms for the Umra camp after the announcements. By the end of 15th February 2015, 34 participants were registered to depart for the Umra Camp on 20th March 2015. To make communication easier, we created a viber group with all the participants, leaders and a contact person from SAFA hajj group to answer all questions asked by the umra participants. The umra participants departed on 20th March and arrived back to male' on the 1st of April 2015. Organizing the umra camp 2015 has benefited scouts and their family members after being provided an inexpensive way of performing their umra and hopefully growing their faith even bigger. Positive feedback from the participants were received and we now hope to continue this project the following year as well.
