Tree Giveaway
The inspiration behind the tree giveaway project with Trees Charlotte stemmed from the growing need for urban greenery and the numerous benefits that trees provide to our communities. Recognizing the important role trees play in improving air quality, enhancing biodiversity, and boosting overall well-being, we aimed to empower residents to take an active part in environmental stewardship.
Led by the Scouts, who took charge of organizing the logistics, managing heavy lifting, and leading planting demonstrations, our tree giveaway at West Charlotte High School distinctly empowered the local community. While Scouts directed the operation and educated attendees, students and their families acted as the beneficiaries, taking trees home to plant and care for in their own neighborhoods.
The Tree Giveaway project with Trees Charlotte had a significant impact on the community by promoting environmental stewardship, enhancing urban greenery, and improving air quality in the Charlotte area. By providing residents with free trees, the initiative encouraged local participation in reforestation efforts and fostered a sense of connection to nature.
