Rover Scouts help rebuild community after Typhoon Nepartak
Taiwanese Rover Scouts help in the rebuilding of community infrastructure damaged by Typhoon Nepartak. On 8 July, the super typhoon ravaged the eastern city of Taitung, causing at least three deaths, injuring some 300, displacing about 17,000 and leaving more than 517,000 households without power.
On 11 July, seven Rover #Scouts made a trip to Taitung to help at the affected areas. They joined a group of 30 comprising soldiers and volunteers in the rebuilding and cleaning up of St. Mary's hospital farm, which was badly damaged by the typhoon. The group cleared debris and fixed broken fences and pipes.
Since there’s much more work to be done, they are recruiting more Scouts for their next mission to Taitung.
