On the 28th of August 2015, the guide students of DAV Airoli celebrated RAKSHA BANDHAN in a unique way. The day started off with the Rakhi making competition of Scout and Guide students of std.5th-7th. Best out of waste was the theme for this competition. Our students made many beautiful and innovative rakhis. After the selection of best rakhis, the guides of std.9th and 10th tripped to the Rabale MIDC Police Station. The officers gave us a warm welcome. They were very mesmerized with those colourful rakhis. The guide students then tied rakhis to them with all the rituals. Then we met the Sr. Inspector Mr. Deshmukh. They enlightened us with the knowledge of their years’ experience. We also came to know about the different case studies and the way to solve them. They appreciated us for holding such a delightful event. After this we went to Rabale Village Police Station. They were surprised to see us celebrating Raksha Bandhan in such a delightful way. We tied another set of rakhis to the officers and also they appreciated the ecofriendly rakhis made by our students. This was just a small initiative taken by our school to acknowledge the struggle of our police officers to protect and serve our nation. This made us aware of the contribution of the police officers to keep our citizens under a safe roof. We are very thankful to our principal Mrs. Suruchi Kataria for allowing us to conduct the event. We also thank the Bharat Scout And Guide, Thane district, DOC Mrs. Sangita Ramteke (guide) and DOC Mr. Santosh Dusane (scout) for holding a meeting of guide teachers and taking a decision of conducting this inspirational and social event.
