Pramuka MAN 2 Banda Aceh Together with Pramuka Peduli Kwarda Aceh Mobilize Proper Clothing Donations for Aceh Flood Victims

This project was inspired by the urgent humanitarian situation faced by communities affected by the recent floods in Aceh. Many families lost their homes and belongings, leaving them in need of immediate assistance. As a youth organization grounded in service and solidarity, Pramuka MAN 2 Banda Aceh felt a strong moral responsibility to take action. The spirit of brotherhood (persaudaraan) and empathy became the driving force behind initiating a clothes donation drive, aiming to help ease the suffering of those impacted by the disaster.

The project was implemented within the school grounds of MAN 2 Banda Aceh over two days. The execution began with the establishment of donation areas where students, teachers, and staff could easily drop off clothing contributions. Throughout the activity, Pramuka members worked collectively to receive and sort the donated items, ensuring that every piece of clothing was clean, appropriate, and well-organized before being packed. After the sorting process, the clothes were prepared for delivery to the flood-affected areas in coordination with local volunteers and community responders. The entire process was carried out under the guidance of scouting leaders who ensured that the activity ran smoothly and efficiently.

The donation drive successfully mobilized the school community and collected a significant amount of usable clothing for flood victims. Beyond the material aid, the project cultivated a sense of social responsibility among students, strengthening their awareness of humanitarian values and the importance of helping others in times of need.
The initiative also demonstrated the positive role of youth organizations like Pramuka in responding to community crises, fostering a culture of generosity and collective action. The beneficiaries received not only essential clothing items but also the message that they are supported and not alone in facing the challenges caused by the disaster.

From this initiative, the participants learned the value of teamwork, community engagement, and swift response in times of crisis. They also gained practical experience in organizing humanitarian efforts, such as sorting clothing, ensuring quality standards, and coordinating distribution logistics.
For future improvements, the team hopes to expand the project by involving more partner schools, promoting earlier preparation for disaster-relief programs, and establishing a more structured donation management system to speed up collection and delivery.
