Plastic-Free Step: Recycling for a CleanTomorrow

As a responsible member of the BIAM Model School & College Scout Group, I am deeply concerned about the harmful effects of plastic pollution on the environment. Plastic waste takes hundreds of years to decompose and harms wildlife, soil, and water. Inspired by the values of the Scout movement and my commitment to environmental protection, I took the initiative to recycle plastic and spread awareness of sustainable practices.

On 20.04.2025, I personally collected plastic waste from around my home and neighborhood, including used bottles, containers, and packaging. I sorted them by type and ensured they were clean before sending them to a local recycling facility. In addition, I reused some plastic containers at home for storage and gardening purposes. This activity also involved educating my peers and family about the importance of recycling and how they can do it properly.

Recycling reduces pollution and conserves natural resources. Proper waste segregation is essential for effective recycling. Even individual efforts can create ripple effects in the community. Raising awareness is as important as taking action. Sustainability begins with responsibility in everyday habits.
