Outdoor Wellness Space for 911 Dispatch Center

Nobody calls 911 when they are having a good day. Dispatchers have a really hard and stressful job answering calls that can be traumatic. They need a break after those calls and some people do better when they are outside in nature. The center did not have an outdoor space to allow for their dispatchers to relax outside, so a member of Troop 2519 chose to create one for her Eagle Scout Project.
Our troop's SPL created an outdoor wellness space to allow 911 dispatchers to have access to nature after difficult calls. She commissioned custom outdoor furniture and installed native perennial plants around the area. She oversaw a group of 10 people on project work day to bring everything together.
A motivated group of people can make a difference in others' lives and positively impact their mental health.
