National Youth Forum 2014 Kakani training center - Nepal Scouts
National Youth Forum was held 13th-16th July 2014 in Kakani International Training Centre, training hall. Altogether 70 youth participants from different districts (5 regions) participated the workshop.
During the youth forum, youth were informed about the current projects and project activities going on in Nepal Scouts. The youth participants seemed really excited to know about the current F-NPP project and the community development activities going around the 7 districts through this project. The young participants were also hopeful that the project will extend their term and in 2016 the project will focus on the community development activities in other districts as well through which the youth can be involved and get engaged in development activities of their community. The youth also thanked the FNPP project for organizing the Youth Forum as it is the platform where they can share their views and also gain more information about scouting and their role as a youth in decision making level. This will further make Nepal Scouts stronger as an organization.
Other things that were provided to the participants were:
• The guidelines for organizing scouts youth forums.
• Youth and fundraising to encourage youths to raise fund at the local level in order to foster local level scouting activities.
• Information to the youth about the ways to decrease the generation gap in order to use the youth ideas and desires in the decision making process. The presentation had a motive to focus on the involvement of youth in international issues to deal with the communication and fund raising problems for the betterment of scouting and the world.
• The chairman of the National Youth Council was elected. 4 nominees raised their nomination for the post of chairman each from 4 development region. Also, 10 other members were selected by a vote.
