Mums for Mums is a local charity group offering support throughout the year for people in financial hardships or because of natural emergencies with food hampers, clothing and vouchers all sourced through donations. Every six months they hold a free community op shop where all items are given away for free. This year 1st Eaglehawk Scouts were able to help with advertising for donations, advertising the pop up op shop and helping set up, fold, sort through all donations which took a small team two days to sort. At the end of the day they helped with taking away donations to pass onto other charity groups. This has formed a partnership with Mums for Mums where the group will continue to offer assistance and volunteer hours. In October more than five hundred people were helped at the op shop with sundries, clothing, food and referrals to other services when needed.
