Messengers of Peace Omaha Beach, France

4,500 youth and leaders from the Boy Scouts of America, Scout Association, Scouts et Guides de France, Poland, and Germany gathered at Omaha Beach to remember the sacrifices made and promise to work together for a future of service and peace. The event started at the Bayeux Cathedral where the Bell for Peace and Freedom was unveiled for the first time. A Scout from Germany, France, UK, and USA symbolically unveiled the bell and then was rung nine times for the nine official sponsors. (one from each country that fought in World War II in Western Europe).
