MESSENGER OF PEACE - FOOD FOR ALL

Many parts of Maharashtra have been gripped in the clutches of drought due to lack of rainfall and shortage of water.Families have been severly affected by this situation.Several families unable to bear the losses caused by drought, areridden by debt, poverty and desperation. Some members have ended their lives.[according to one report 60000 farmers were ended their life in Maharashtra since 1995].......Many families have no ration left at all and are literally starving.taking into consideration the severity of the situation caused by the drought,i decided to undertake the programme ' FOOD FOR ALL.'At least the forthcoming festivals of Dassera and Diwali will not be a scare one for these unfortunate drought stricken families.......So on 21st September,INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY, me and my scout troop decided to provide one months ration and other necessities to 50 such families. To fulfill this purpose, donations were needed.About 200 scouts and guides came forward and volunteered to collect the funds needed for the venture. We work an hour everday for this project. We all give our own contribution for this purpose also.Within 3 weeks the amount collected was about Rs.1,80,000/-......Some members even contributed by donating clothes. Then we purchase ration material. In this period we take survey and choose 50 needful families from CHAKLAMBA village.[Chaklamba is 300 km away from our school.] On 11th October 2015 me with some scouts and guides and some school staff visited CHAKLAMBA in BEED district and distributed the ration to the 50 families......[The families who were allotted rations were the poverty stricken farmers, labourrers, sugarcane farm workers and the landless. There were several families whose members had committed suicide.]
