Two days workshop on messenger of peace and surf smart. Day 1 : The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Monica narang Asst. Prof. University of Jammu, The state secretary welcomed the chief guest and other guests. All the guests put light on how to lead a healthy and successful life and how scouts and guides plays important part in its way. The workshop started by what messenger of peace is and how did it initiated. We got to know that Majesty king Abdullah of Saudia Arabia and King of Swdan starts the MoP initiate. He decided to take initiative in collaboration with scout and guide as they regarded them as ''messenger of peace''. The initiative was taken in September 2011. The first service under MOP was recorded by the youths of Indonesia where 20 youths work for 20 hrs to reconstruct a playground for children to play . One of the amazing thing we got to know was that 6 million service hours were recorded under mop in just 3 years. We also discussed what peace means to different people. We saw many videos that showed how people from different places different backgrounds on their own help other people for sake of their inner peace. The videos were very inspiring and motivated our minds. By seeing them we got to know more ways how to help people. We were also involved in many activities regarding mop and one of them was sharing an idea of individual with others for the betterment of society and development. One day 2 : on second day we started with surf smart, a very important topic to be discussed as we are living in the age of internet. Where one's life is wholly dependent of internet it is important for us to know how to surf smart. We first discussed what actually internet means. We learned the concept of Connect Protect Respect. We also participated in activities that were relating to surfing smartly. Activities were like beating virus, avtar, etc. We also did the activity of treasure hunt which was totally done with the use of internet. The basic thought behind all these activities we got that we should connect smartly. We must know what data we are sharing, uploading etc and how others are going to interpret it,which is important part of surfing. On the whole this 2 days workshop on messenger of peace and surf smart sounded very useful for us. I personally got so much to know about new facts and knowledge which i ' m definitely going to share it with others .
