There is a temple called sri bodhirajaramaya in Nawala. The stupa and wall around the bo tree was full of dust and dirt. So, I, Lavin Chanindu Dharmathilake, air scout of 57th Colombo thought to organize a project to clean them up and repaint. I met the Cheif incumbent of the temple , Ven. Mahiyangane Uparathane who is a teacher at Ananda sasthralaya , Pitakotte and got the permission to do the task. The I informed my scout master and five scouts to participate in it. The scout master, Ananda Dissanayake very actively participated and guided me. Air scouts, chenuka Ranasinghe, Lakeesha gamage, Siluna sithmina, and scout from 60th Colombo Rusiru Jayakody took part by giving their manpower. The material such as paint and brushes was provided by Cheif Executive officer of Biomed Image Pvt. Ltd. Colombo 03. Meals ,ladders and transport were provided by my parents. someone from dayaka sabhawa gave us buckets, basins and hose. He prepared tea for us. We washed the stupa first. Then we started washing small Buddha statues around the bo tree and kept them away. The we washed wall around the bo tree. when we finished it the surface of the stupa was dried. we mixed paint with water as instructed by the company. We applied white paint first. Then the pink on flowers and ash on the boarder. After that we painted the wall around the bo tree with white paint and flowers with pink. We cleaned place after finishing painting.
