Malaysia Flood Relief, Aid and Service with Royal Malaysian Air Force

Around the new years of 2015, Malaysia was hit by flash floods and strong winds resembling hurricanes at the northern and southern regions affecting 200,000 citizens to date. The government and the people were fast to act to gather our strengths to provide aid to the flood victims. My troop was called to service with the Royal Malaysian Air Force RMAF whom was in operations for the relief from 29th December 2014 until 4th January 2015. We gathered about 30 of us scouts, scouters and some non scouts to service with the RMAF. This air Base, TUDM Subang was to provide relief for the southern and some Northern region such as kuantan, Pahang. We were tasked to pack boxes from small pellets to bigger pellets to be put into the cargo planes at the warehouse. Each pellet weighted 3,500 pounds and each cargo planes were set to carry about 5 to 6 pellets. The pellet's contents ranged from water, clothing, food, soap, to adult diapers which were donated by various other organisations around the country. Daily they would send about 6 cargo planes full to specific places. Our service involved sending 2 cargo planes to kuantan, Pahang. We serviced unitedly side by side with members of the National Service, (PLKN), military reserve forces (Askar Wataniah) and Bank Simpanan Nasional employees. Our prayers go to the victims for them to get back up and restart their life again as soon as possible.
