"Healthy Mother, Healthy Child"
we observed a significant gap in maternal knowledge regarding child nutrition and healthcare within our community. As Metropolitan University Rover Scouts, we recognized our social responsibility to address this. Our core motivation stems from the conviction that empowering mothers with vital health information directly contributes to a healthier, stronger future generation.
Our project execution began with the formation of an 8-member team from the Metropolitan University Rover Scouts Group. Recognizing the critical awareness gap in maternal child nutrition and health, we organized a community seminar. We developed informative sessions using accessible language, enhanced by posters and visual aids to maximize understanding of basic health and nutrition guidelines conducted in a local community space, facilitating direct engagement with mothers.
Through this project, we gained invaluable insights into the power of community engagement and effective communication. We clearly saw that delivering even basic health information in an accessible manner can yield significant positive change. Furthermore, this initiative greatly enhanced our team's leadership, planning, and interpersonal skills. Crucially, we solidified our understanding that small, targeted initiatives can create a profound and meaningful impact on marginalized communities.
