Harmony Day in Trafalgar
on Thursday 21st March 2019, the older youth of the Trafalgar Scout Group along with the local Rover Scouts ran an event that celebrates Baw Baw Shire Councils multicultural community, as part of the national Harmony Day and state Cultural Diversity Week celebrations. The Scout hall in Trafalgar offered a range of activities including children's colouring in, African Drumming workshops with Rokeby drummer Roger Terrill and activities where the community can level messages celebrate our cultural diversity.
"Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone which are the same values as we make with our Scout Law and Promise" said Tamara Oates 15, Venturer Scout at 1st Trafalgar Scout Group, "we want all the community to join us between 7pm and 9pm to celebrate the rich cultural diversity that makes Australia a great place to live. "
The Harmony Day celebrations was open to all in the community, and was run by Young people.
