Fourth Zhabto programme at the GMC.
My motivation for participating in the 4th Zhabto Volunteer Service Programme was to contribute, even in a small way, towards His Majesty’s vision of Gelephu Mindfulness City. I believe that building a city this big requires more than infrastructure and development, it requires the collective commitment, responsibility and participation of us Bhutanese.
Our team (Team 18 Black Panther) along with others contributed to preparing designated spaces for landscaping by clearing overgrown bushes, removing stones and rocks, collecting debris and clearing the surrounding areas to make them suitable for further development. Through these hands on work, cooperation and shared responsibility, we helped prepare the spaces for beautification and improvement.
Through this project, I learned the importance of teamwork, collective responsibility and community participation. I gained practical insights into land preparation and landscaping while understanding how small individual contributions can create meaningful collective impact. Most importantly, I realised that building GMC requires commitment and active participation in bringing His Majesty’s vision to life.
