Dialogue for Peace - ScoutWired!
ScoutWired is a freshly designed multi-function site, an addition to the standard JOTI, with the added experience of modern-day, online gaming. The concept of ScoutWired is to enable Scouts to maintain dialogue with one another all year round, 24 hours a day - and it’s not just in a chat, but in gaming scenarios, such as a Minecraft server. Through our Minecraft server, Scouts are able to mix with non-scouts, creating dialogue, friendships and partnerships all around the world.

In late 2015, a friend and I decided to make an action towards maintaining the positive dialogue created through JOTI and JOTA. Although JOTI is very exciting, to maintain interest year round, we broadened the concept to include gaming (a very important youthly activity) such as minecraft..
With ScoutWired, 412 people have logged into our minecraft servers since July 2016, plus countless other users have used our other servers for communication. To manage this, ScoutWired has grown from an idea of and managed by two people, to now a team of 21 people from New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Australia. Unfortunately, a set-back in mid 2016 caused us to lose our data from 2015 to that point.
In total 14,000 hours have been maximised in creating stronger connections of dialogue and friendship all around the world, including 5000 hours in background work to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Our Messengers of Peace project is inviting and youth-friendly. Most importantly, fun!
