Coral Transplantation in Tidung Island

Currently, there are many cases of coral reef damage due to human activities and climate change. Coral reefs themselves are crucial to marine ecosystems, providing habitat for tiny organisms. Therefore, we were inspired to repair the damage through this project.

This project was implemented with a briefing and training first. First, we were given an explanation of coral transplantation techniques, including the necessary tools and materials. After practicing, the transplanted corals were transported to deeper waters.

Through this project, I realized the importance of preserving marine ecosystems. This is partly due to the ocean's crucial role in the hydrological and carbon/oxygen cycles. Therefore, coral reef conservation is an essential step.
