Compartamos Navidad
Me (Santiago Ramirez) and my friend Fede Morales, decided to take in this project, because we wanted to make an impact in our community. We came up with the idea of organizing a donnation of clothes and toys, as we thought many people could help us with this task; they certainly had lots of things, which they no longer used. In addition to that we realized the impact would be really good.
Through posters, we encouraged our community to bring clothes in good state, as well as toys. We told they would be donated to children´s hostels. Few days later, we started to recieve donations form different sources. One day we met with the intention to classify the clothes and toys, so they would be ready to be delivered. All in all we managed to gather a good amount of clothes and toys. Sepparetely we delivered the clohtes and to several places.
We estimate something like 80 -90 children were benefited from this project. Surely all the clothes and toys delivered, are being enjoyed and used by the children.
We learnt that if many people support something great things happend. The effort of many people to search in their hourse, followed by them bringing the clothes and toys, is really appreciated. We learnt to become leaders and to stand up to a good cause. We learnt how to give a call to places and get information. We learnt how to deal with failure (hostels not picking up our calls.
