Climate Cafe "Pekalongan Edition"

We were inspired by the real-life conditions in Pekalongan, particularly the impacts of climate change, such as tidal flooding, extreme weather, and environmental damage, which are directly felt by the community. Through this Climate Café, we aim to create a relaxed yet meaningful dialogue space where young people, communities, and stakeholders can come together to share ideas, experiences, and creative solutions to address climate challenges.

We executed this project by creating an interactive discussion space in a relaxed, café-like atmosphere. First, we connected various communities, volunteers, and youth in Pekalongan to participate. Then, we prepared relevant materials and facilitators to ensure the discussions were focused yet enjoyable.

A key lesson we learned was that climate change is not solely the responsibility of the government or environmental activists, but rather a shared issue that requires collaboration. From this activity, we learned that an inclusive dialogue space can generate fresh ideas, strengthen networks between communities, and raise awareness that even small actions can have a big impact when taken together.
