Christmas Charity Room Help

I wanted to find a community project that qualifies for the global Messengers of Peace initiative. This center is deeply personal to me; when we moved to Wisconsin and I was in kindergarten, I donated my favorite unopened birthday gifts and My Little Pony sets here to share joy with families in need. When I learned that this exact center needed volunteers for the holidays, I was so excited to return and take the next big step in my favorite childhood place.
On October 9, 2026,from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. our team of 4 volunteered for 2 hours at St. Vincent de Paul in Plymouth, WI. I led my group in setting up their charity Christmas room. We sorted garlands (with and without lights), organized holiday ornaments, and attached new price tags for the sale. The funds raised directly provide local families with emergency food, rent, and clothing assistance.
This project taught me how to lead a small team efficiently under a tight schedule. I also learned that small volunteer actions directly fund essential community relief, such as emergency shelter and food. Ultimately, it showed me that supporting local charity centers helps build a continuous cycle of peace and stability in our neighborhood.
