Behind the Scenes: Scouts in Action!
TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES- Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Eastern Visayas Regions, Tacloban City Council Outfit 90 render emergency services on June 16, 2019 during City's Cultural Night Celebration hosted by the outfit's sponsoring institution STEFTI, in preparation for Tacloban's Fiesta 'Sangyaw Festival'. A total of 9 scouts, 7 senior and 2 rover scouts (RS Dy, RS Tabao, SS Parac, SS Ligutan, SS Cabelin, SS Lago, SS Pascual, SS Lluz, SS Bangoy) rendered services as emergency first aiders, marshalls, crowd control, and force multipliers during the event. The Scouts gathered at Plaza Rizal in Tacloban at 1500H. Amidst a crowd of about 250 people, including performers, school faculty, staff and civilians, the scouts paved their way through challenging tasks and responsibilities of the standby force multipliers, as well as casualties that the event had to offer to it's participants. A total of 5 people who were performers were treated from hyperventilation and difficulty in breathing while 2 people were given medicine for fever. There were no serious injuries. Afterwards, the scouts helped in distributing food for the performers and also in tudying up the equipment used during the event. The event lasted until 2300H.
