As the sun dawned on Thursday, the second of February, the bear patrol set out to meet the family of a Palestinian martyr. It was a privilege and an honour for these fine young boys to meet a family that had lost one of it's finest treasures, it's own son, who had fallen in the name of his country. These six scouts engaged into deep conversation with the family and shared their remaining sorrows, hopes and dreams. The family had finally been able to share it's memories of it's son thereby further lessening their sorrow, knowing that their son's memory wouldn't fade and that his sacrifice was not in vain, for he will be remembered by these fine boys for the rest of their lives. In addition to the fact that they had learnt of his own life to remember it, rather than his death through which he applied one of a scouts main values servitude, in this case to his country. Fady Al Zabakli was a student at the Collége des Frérès, the very same school that these scouts attend, a factor which made the moments they spent with his family that much more personal, something that made it special for them, as it was like reminiscing about an old friend that you hadn't met in a while. He had shared the same dreams and hopes as them and that is why his memory will be eternal for these scouts. Fady died after getting shot in the head in the twenty eighth of December 1989, during a protest, however after surviving for eleven days, his body gave up in the seventh of January 1990, the date of his final breath.
