Anzac Day

Anzac Day

Being part of the organising committee for the Brisbane Anzac Day Dawn Service. This means attending meetings to ensure everything is arranged and organised. I am on the committee representing Scouts Qld. I am responsible for arranging Venturers and Rovers to help with set up and pack up of the location. Scouts help remove floral arrangements from previous ceremonies and cleaning up the Shrine. We set up barricades and chairs for the invited guests, we hand out programs, distribute food and water to the first aid posts. Then after the service, we pack everyting up again.

This was my 22nd year of helping at the Service and my 6th year on the committee.

The number of Scouts that come and help and the hours that they put in vary from year to year depending on their other Anzac Day committments.
