The Bharat Scouts and Guides, District Udhampur organised a poster making competition on the auspicious occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in which various Scouts and Guides of BBSVP, KC Gurukul Public School and Amardeep Public School participated. Former District Commissioner, Ashok Kumar states that the aim of this competition is to create awareness about issues related to drugs and strengthening action and cooperation in order to make the world free of drug abuse. Through this competition, scouts and guides aware people about the problems faced by society due to illegal drugs. Former District Training Commissioner, Veena Sharma said that theme of celebrating the day is "Share Facts On Drugs, Save Lives".it promotes combating misinformation and sharing drugs-related facts as well as solutions for treatment to fight against the problem all over the world. Scout Master Rakesh Sharma informed that All over the world, we see that risks and consequences of drug use are worsened by poverty, limited opportunities for education and jobs, stigma and social exclusion, which in turn helps to deepen inequalities, moving us further away from achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The COVID-19 crisis has intensified these challenges further still, overwhelming health systems and exposing the fragility of institutions and social safety nets. In this competition, Arushi Subsal begged First, Jai Dev Second and Saksham Gupta third position in this competition while Akshar Khajuria got consolation prize. Others who motivate the Scouts and Guides are Scouts Master Ved Kumar, Amar Dev Singh, Arun Kumar, Dr Khem Raj, Amit Kumar, Guide Captains Divyangna Dubey, Anuradha Sharma, Priyanka Sharma etc.
