"Inclusion and diversity in Scouting"
Inclusion and diversity is one of the strategic priorities of the Three Year Plan 2014-2017 of the World Scout Committee. This strategic priority contributes significantly to achieve the Vision 2023 of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM): "By the year 2023 Scouting is the leading global educational youth movement, allowing 100 million young people to be active citizens creating positive change in their communities and in the world based on shared values."
Under the Interamerican Symposium of Inclusion and Diversity in the Scout Movement to be held in Panama City between September 18 - 20, 2015, the World Scout Bureau - Interamerican Region convenes the Photography Contest "Inclusion and diversity in Scouting" according to the following
BASIS
Topic. The theme of the contest is: "Inclusion and diversity in Scouting"
Modality. The contest is based on digital photographs and the works will be received through the Web platform www.scout.org. To do this, participants must create an user profile on the platform and upload their photograph between August 15 and September 5, 2015.
Sólo se podrá presentar una fotografía por participante. La técnica será totalmente libre, ya que se busca el énfasis en el desarrollo de la temática de diversidad e inclusión en el Movimiento Scout.
The pictures will be uploaded to the personal profile of the participants in www.scout.org, using the hashtag #D&IinScouting. The information accompanying the photo must include: full name, NSO, photo title, date when taken, category in which it participates and a brief explanation of your photograph. The link of the post in www.scout.org must then be sent via email, together with the document proving the acredited registration in the OSN, to: interamerica@scout.org.
Participants. Registered members of all National Scout Organizations (NSOs) in the Interamerican Scout Region. In order to prove this they must submit, with the photograph, copy of the document certifying their current registration within the OSN in the same email mentioned above to interamerica@scout.org.
Categories. The contest contemplates three categories:
a) from 7 to 17 years old,
b) from 18 to 29 years old
c) from 30 years old and above.
In every case the photos requires to be taken directly by the participant. With this, in the e-mail mentioned above, where will be submitted the link to the photo, the contestant must declare that the photograph is original and that has been taken by the participant.
It is very important to mention that that author agrees to grant the rights of the photograph to the World Scout Bureau - Interamerican Region so it can be used in the media and materials appropriate to sensitize and build awareness on the theme of inclusion and diversity in Scouting.
Jury. The jury will becomposed by photographers with extensive experience.
Prices. For the first place of each of the categories: Grant * to participate in any of the following regional events at winner's choice:
• 15th Interamerican Scout Jamboree and 2nd Interamerican Scout Camporee, Ecuador 2016.
• 3rd. Interamerican Scout Moot, Peru 2018.
The awards ceremony will take place during the inauguration of the Interamerican Symposium on September 18, 2015.
* The grant consists of the payment of the fee to the selected event. Prices of transportation and of delegation must be covered by the participant.
