WOSM All work streams meeting

WOSM All work streams meeting

A joint meeting of the core groups of the three established work streams (Educational Methods, Good Governance and Communications and Partnerships) and the Growth and Strategy Coordination Group was convened in March in Istanbul with the following objectives: • Building the operational leadership team of the operational framework and ensuring all participants are familiar with the 2017-20 Triennial Plan and Vision 2023 and how their work contributes to it, • Finalizing work plans for each team and ensuring ownership over KPIs established under the Triennial Plan and the meta-indicators for Vision 2023, • Fostering collaboration across work streams, and ensuring that they benefit from each others’ work, • Progressing the growth agenda and ensuring all activities planned in the work streams contribute to a holistic approach to growth. Participants noted that it was very helpful to kickstart work with a joint meeting, which allowed them to get to know the people they will be collaborating with and develop good working relationships. Each of the work streams developed their work plans, while aligning with existing activities in the WSB Thematic Teams work plans. The plans are aligned with the WOSM 2017-20 Triennial Plan objectives and KPIs and devote special attention to developing further resources for the 12 service areas within the WOSM Service Model. During the meeting, the participants had an opportunity to discuss their work streams’ contributions to growth across the movement. Through one of the sessions they identified different activities within their work plans that will contribute to growth, and had an opportunity to share those with other participants, to ensure that the full group has an understanding of the contributions each work stream will make towards achieving growth. The meeting was an excellent opportunity to bring together the core groups volunteers and ensure that all have a good understanding of the work ahead in the triennium. It helped strengthen cooperation across work streams, and identify shared areas of work. Finally, it helped advance the growth agenda and give more clarity to the next steps that need to be taken in this area.
