Winter 2019 Volunteers at the World Scout Centre

Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) is "the Permanent Mini Jamboree", a place where Scouts from all over the world can meet year round. Beautifully located in Kandersteg, Switzerland, it welcomes more than 12 000 guests from over 40 countries every year.

The Centre is run by an International volunteer Staff team, who spend between 3 months - 3 years ensuring that BP's dream of "the permanent mini-jamboree" is kept alive. The amount of service hours is the total amount of work from our Staff team of 70 volunteers during the last 3 months.

In Winter 2018 / 2019, we have welcomed 11 Short Term Staff from Singapore, Italy, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Australia, Colombia and Uruguay. They completed the Winter Volunteer Team and together 36 Staff the Center started into an exciting Winter season. 

From Ski Guide to Igloo building and curling adventures, our Staff not only provided our Guests with an educational and adventurous Winter programme. They also ensured that food and accommodation for all our Guests were at the highest standards. Together the Staff team celebrated swiss traditions of Christmas and New Years, spend an unforgettable International Rover Week with Rovers from all around the World. 

It was a great Winter Season and a big thank you goes to all our volunteer staff of Winter 2019 for bringing the Permanent Mini Jamboree alive.
