The National Rover/Ranger Moot

The National Rover/Ranger Moot was organized and conducted at State Training Centre, Kondajji, Karnataka State from 26th to 30th September 2013 in which 163 (One Hundred Sixty Three) participants & from 18 (Eighteen) States of the Country participated i.e. Arunachal Pradesh- 05, Bihar-06, Central Railway-01, Chhattisgarh-08, Eastern Railway-05, Haryana-10, Kerala-06,Karnataka-53, Maharashtra-15, N.F.Railway-04, Rajasthan-11, S.C. Railway-05, Tamil Nadu-08, Tripura-04, Uttar Pradesh-04, Uttarakhand-05 and West Bengal-04 respectively. The Seminar was informally inaugurated and started on the 26th September afternoon after Registration and Flag Ceremony followed by Integration Sesion and Camp Tour. In the Evening Objectives of the Moot with Power Point Presentation of Rovering/Rangering in India was dealt followed by Camp-Fire programme. The inaugural function of the Moot was held on 27th Morining in which Shri H.S.Shivashankar, Member, Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Harihar, Kondajji was present as a Chief-Guest and Shri Hanagavadi Veeresh, Member, Davangere Zilla Panchayat (Kondajji Constituency) was present as a Guest-of-Honour and blessed the participants. Shri Kondajji B. Shanmukhappa, State Chief Commissioner, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Karnataka State was also present and presided over the function. Smt. Shantha V. Acharya, State Commissioner (G), BS&G, Karnataka present as a special guest. During the Moot participants had actively participated in the Group Discussions, Youth Forum, Trekking Programme, Backwoodsman Cooking, Community Service Programme, Night Trekking, Star-Gazing, Skill based subjects and plantation programme etc. Input subjects through power point like Five Rocks of Rovering, What is Scouting/Guiding, Rover Scouting in India, Upa-Rashtrapati Award, Community Development Project, Venture Club, etc were also dealt. On 28th September participants were also taken for the Educational Tour to Hampi to visit the historical places of interest and Zoological centre during which Hitch-Hike programme was also organized to study the flora and fauna of the area. The Valedictory function and grand Camp-fire of the event was organized on 29thevening in which the participants presented various colorful cultural programmes depicting different traditional culture, Play-act on Community Development Project being under-taken by BS&G etc which was highly appreciable and laudable. The Moot was successfully conducted under the leadership of Shri Amar B. Chettri, Assistant Director, Southern Region duly assisted by the invited Staff Members. The Moot ended on 30th September after all faith Prayer, Open Session, Final Talk followed by Closing Ceremony, Lowering down the BS&G Flag and singing National Anthem.
